You could call the Florentia a woman-specific Formigli Classic, but you’d be selling it short. It is a custom racing bicycle but truly it is also Italian art at its highest perfection.
Most women’s specific bikes are made to a formula, as if all women were alike. The Florentia, like Renzo Formigli’s other models, is made-to-order, custom, each bicycle different from the last one and the next one. Each custom road bike is made to suit (to delight) its eventual rider.
Renzo builds the Florentia the way elite Italian framebuilders, a dwindling bunch, used to make frames

Frame Material | Italian SL steel made by Columbus |
Steel Specs | Niobium is a special steel with manganese, chrome, nickel, molybdenum and niobium. Columbus’s special chemical composition, the combined effect of strengthening for precipitation and reducing the alloy grain size are incredibly enhanced compared to standard steels. |
Niobium proves more effective than Vanadium as an alloy-strengthening agent. After specific processes of progressive drawing and forming, NIOBIUM undergoes a special heat treatment that gives to the steel its final characteristics. It is a steel designed to provide superior mechanical characteristics and higher resistance to environmental effects than conventional carbon steels. The only serious choice for a competition or top-of-the-line frame, where lightweight and reliability are essential. | |

Something remarkable happens when you know the provenance and history of a handmade bicycle. Even more so when that bicycle is hand built from carbon, in Italy.
Take Your Own Measurements
Send Formigli your bone measurements and body ratios. Watch the video for a visual of the method and read the below instructions.
Instructions for Measuring Your Body’s Geometry
C: The crotch measurement
Put on cycling shorts and take off your shoes. Stand with your back against a wall, with the legs naturally opened (15-20cm apart). Place a level between legs and draw it up to the point it causes you uncomfortable pressure where it meets the pubis. Establish that it is level using the bubble and mark this point on the wall. Measure from this point on the wall to the ground.
TG: The Trunk + legs measurement
Take the measurement on both on right (TG-DX) and left sides (TG-SX).
Stand with your back tall, with the legs naturally opened (15-20cm apart), extend arms out to the sides parallel to the ground (making a T shape), face palms forward. Find the top of the shoulder, where the collarbone ends and the upper arm bone begins. You will feel the notch between these 2 bones. Measure this notch to the ground.
BA: The arms measurement
Take the measure both on right (BA-DX) and left side (BA-SX)
Stand with your back tall, with the legs naturally opened (15-20cm apart), extend arms out to the sides parallel to the ground (making a T shape). Face palms forward. Find the notch in the center of the chest where the 2 collarbones meet. Measure from the center of this notch to the beginning of the middle finger where it connects to the palm.
A: The forearm measurement
Take the measure both on right (A-DX) and left side (A-SX)
Stand with back against the wall. Touch shoulders and upper arms to the wall. Bend elbow 90 degrees to create a right angle (shape arm into an “L”). Hold a broom stick handle (or any tube approximately the diameter of handlebar). Measure from the elbow where it touches the wall on a straight line parallel to the ground to the beginning of the tube.
Submit Professional Fit Data
A second option is for you to get fit by a professional fit expert or biomechanic of your choice and send Formigli your custom fit data. We accept any fit system data. Submit your fit data.
If you work with a fit expert and submit your data, we also require the measurements from the Formigli Measurement Form. You and your fit expert can discuss the optional geometries and confirm your choice.
