Stratification of Tubes
What determines the stratification in the tubes? The points of stress in a frame. In general, the seat tube, down tube and chain stays are made with more highly stratified carbon that assures greater strength for the frame as a whole.

A Safer Bicycle
When a frame is made too light by removing carbon layers at points of great stress, the frame can splinter. Formigli’s tubes, with their highly stratified carbon layers, provide the rider with a frame that has excellent riding characteristics–and a safe bicycle.
